MICHIGAN ANIMAL RESCUE LEAGUE

I have been working on Michigan Animal Rescue League (MARL) since 2014. In this time, I have designed their new logo, bi-annual newsletters, several pieces for their annual fundraising event, and a variety of other pieces to help give them a consistent visual presence to ultimately raise money to help the animals in need.

THE MARL REPORT

I’ve been designing the bi-annual newsletter for MARL since 2014. I used a selection of colors from their brand color palette and helped build out their style guide with fonts and a consistent visual language. MARL supplies me with the copy and images and I design each layout to make these stories come alive. I fill in with stock images and photography from photoshoots I’ve directed for them where necessary, keeping the look consistent with the images from the rescue.

LOGO

MARL was able to build an amazing new facility to help even more animals in need in 2020. At this time, they wanted to also update their logo. Because they felt their logo was so recognizable, I modernized it rather than give them an entirely new logo. It gave them a fresh new look that matched their continued growth as an animal rescue.

WISH BOOK

MARL presented this holiday gift package concept to me in 2021 and I designed a book to be printed and mailed out. I used a mix of MARL images and stock images with a fun holiday color palette including their main cobalt blue and brand fonts to keep it consistent with the visual language I helped create. It was a huge success for MARL.

YAPPY HOUR

MARL has a big fundraising event every year in a beautiful outdoor setting. They supply me with a theme every year and I design a save the date, invitation, signage, web banners and an event program.

APPEAL BROCHURE

This was the first piece I designed for MARL in 2014. I came up with the concept, directed a photoshoot of some current MARL animals and designed the book to be printed and mailed.

VAN WRAP

I designed a full vehicle wrap for MARL’s new van in 2016 and directed a photoshoot of some MARL animals to use in the windows.
